TIGER BASEBALL HEADED TO PLAYOFFS!

These boys are play Kossuth today for the first round of the playoffs! They lost the first game 5-4. Also they carry a orange wrist band to support Greg Dees in his fight against cancer!

“Kick Butts Day” is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up, and seize control against Big Tobacco.  “Kick Butts Day” is organized by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and sponsored by the United Health Foundation.
As part of "Kick Butts Day" the WSS Drug-Ed Health Classes participated by each student  doing a poster to speak out against tobacco use.

Many students participated in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon trip to SkyZone in Memphis.  Junior High students who raised $100 or more for the Math-A-Thon were able to attend the trip.  What a worthy cause....Congratulations!


Winona Career & Technical Center is 1 of 9 schools competing for a $10,000 grant given by Delta Technical College - Ridgeland to help us buy needed equipment for OUR center! Mary Ashton Thornburg
and Whitnee Shaw have been selected to play in the Mississippi A
ssociation of Coaches Fast Pitch All Star Game on June 6. Coaches Steven Helms and Percy Legg have been selected to coach it.



Tigers will be playing in the Northeast Mississippi Coaches Association for the Betterment of Baseball All-Star game in Corinth on May 23. They are:  Marlo Hill, Ryan Parkerson, Andrew Wilson.  Zack Carter will play in the Mississippi Association of Coaches Junior all-star game on June 6.


After district play last week, Winona had three teams to qualify for the State Tournament. 

Rachel VanHorn - Girl Singles
Caleb McBride/ Reed Rushing -Boys Doubles
Vivian Van/Nate Tidwell - Mixed Doubles

The State Tournament is May 11, 12, 13 in Jackson.
